Frequently Asked Questions

How can therapy help me?

Therapy is an investment in personal growth and self care, and an act of self-compassion. Therapy offers a space to acknowledge and work through challenges, process difficult emotions and decrease feelings of distress, improve coping, build insight and create meaningful, lasting change.

Where do I start?

The first step is finding the right therapist. I offer a free 15 minute consultation for us to explore how I can best support you in moving towards your goals, and to help you determine whether we would be a good fit. Click here to schedule a call.

What can I expect from our first appointment?

Our intake appointment includes a thorough review of your history, your primary concerns, and what has led you to seek treatment at this time. We will clarify and develop measurable goals, which will be reviewed regularly throughout treatment. We will review informed consent, including your rights to confidentiality, and I will answer any initial questions you may have.

What is informed consent?

Informed consent is an active process of communication between client and therapist. I will provide you with sufficient information about the risks, benefits, scope and cost of treatment, as well as your rights as a client, so that you may make decisions around your participation in therapy.

What are your office hours?

Office hours for both in-person and online therapy vary, and include both daytime and limited early evening appointments.

What are your fees?

The fee for a 45-minute session is $262.

The fee for a 60-minute session, including initial assessment, is $350.

Do you accept insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider with insurance. I will provide you with a Superbill that contains all required information to submit for reimbursement through out of network benefits if requested.

What is your cancellation policy?

Appointments must be cancelled within 24 hours. If an appointment is canceled with less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged the full session fee.

Are you available after hours?

I respond to contacts within one business day. If you are experiencing a psychiatric emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

How will I know when I’m done with therapy?

The therapeutic process looks different for everyone. I will work with you to clearly identify your treatment needs, review progress and any subsequent goals, and check in regularly to understand your sense of how the process is working for you. Moving on from therapy is a process that we will engage in together, at your own pace.
